Gator Frameworks has introduced a new studio microphone boom stand featuring a weighted base with locking casters and a counterbalanced boom for controlled positioning of heavier microphones.
The stand features a cast iron weighted base paired with an integrated counterweight and reinforced boom to maintain balance under load. Adjustable height and boom controls, along with a rotating boom extension rod, allow for precise microphone placement, with a maximum vertical pole height of 87 inches (230 cm) and a maximum extended height of 147 inches (373.4 cm).
To help protect valuable mics during adjustments, the stand includes a Soft-Catch Drop Safety System that cushions downward movement when lowering the upper section, while its rugged construction and industrial-grade hardware support consistent performance under regular use. Three locking casters allow the stand to be repositioned as needed and secured in place once positioned.
The release expands Gator Frameworks’ collection of microphone stands, which includes studio boom designs with hex-base and tripod configurations, as well as desktop and performance-focused options.
